Pests are attracted to a variety of factors, including clutter, food, water sources and even warmth. Pests are drawn to food and shelter, so above the cleanliness of a facility it is important to implement preventative measures to effectively manage pest activity.
No, pests are active in one season alone ie summer. Many pests, such as cockroaches, moths, rats, and mice, are active all year long. Some pests are more active in the winter months because they’re trying to escape the cold weather.
While pesticides can certainly help to get rid of pests, they are not the only solution. Relying too heavily on pesticides can lead to pests developing a resistance to pesticides, meaning that they become harder to eliminate over time.
IPM is about not looking at one dimensional approach to pest control. an integrated pest management approach that uses a combination of methods is often most successful at controlling pests.
